Ross Stevenson: Profile
Like many broadcasters - Ross was a lawyer for a short period of time before realising the error of his ways. Honing his skills on community radio, Ross joined the on-air team at 3AW on his way to becoming Australia's number one breakfast presenter.
John Burns: Profile
John started his career in law practicing as a barrister for 22 years. In the 1980s most of his cases were resolved by lunchtime - so after work he would gather up any willing participants and go to lunch.
Neil Mitchell: Profile
Neil is one of Australia's most experienced journalists with success in newspapers, radio and television. He was one of the youngest editors of a daily metropolitan newspaper, The Herald.
Derryn Hinch: Profile
Derryn Hinch used to threaten that he would eventually write an autobiography and call it Famous People who have met me. He was joking. Eventually he did write a kind of personal biography about the private thoughts of a public person.
Gerard Healy: Profile
Gerard Healy played 130 games with Melbourne from 1979 to 1985 and then 81 with Sydney from 1986 to 1990. He won the 1988 Brownlow Medal but was forced into retirement at just 29 because of a wrist injury.
Dwayne Russell: Profile
Dwayne began writing for The Age and The Geelong Advertiser newspapers in 1989 whilst playing AFL Football for Geelong. He began working in radio for K-Rock in 1990 and spent five years at the ABC before joining 3AW in 2002.
Rex Hunt: Profile
Rex was a slow starter when it came to football and cricket. He recalls often being the last picked for the side. At 16 Rex realised that his strength and passion lied in football not cricket and so he pursued this.
Bruce Mansfield: Profile
Bruce won a junior announcer's competition at radio 3UZ in 1960. The prize was 100 pounds and a week on the air. Bruce joined radio 3KZ in 1962 as a panel operator and late night announcer (not much has changed).
Philip Brady: Profile
Phillip Brady went straight from Xavier College to Channel Nine in 1958. He spent 13 Years at the station working on In Melbourne Tonight - appearing in commercials and comedy sketches with Graham Kennedy as well as compering the show.
