Soft Belly Comedy

Sunday nights from 6:30pm

They say laughter is the best medicine and a cheap laugh is even better.

The very best of Australian comedy perform every Sunday night at a small bar in the city and it is only $12.

This week Adam Hills will host the night which will feature Glenn Robbins, Hannah Gasby, Jeff Stilson, Josh Earl and Tommy Dassalo.

The night will sell out so make sure you get in early. First in first served. Tickets can be bought at the door on the night at Softbelly 367 Little Bourke street in the city.

Teddy Bear’s Picnic

Sunday 26th February, 2012

Australian comedian Dave O’Neil will join children’s characters Angelina Ballerina and Scooby Doo for the annual Teddy Bear’s picnic at Ripponlea.

Entertainment includes storytelling, pony rides, an animal farm, circus performers, dance workshops and stage shows.

Tickets will be available at the gate or you can book online.

Melbourne Indigenous Arts Festival

Friday 10 – 12th February, 2012

The inaugural Melbourne Indigenous Arts Festival will open Friday 10th February with Troy Cassar- Daley taking to the stage at Federation Square to kick off the event.

The three day festival will include theatre, music writing, film, cabaret, dance and more.

Father Bob's 'nomad' wish enabled

When speaking to reporters after being forced out of the South Melbourne Parish last week, Father Bob said he wouldn't mind being a 'nomad' for awhile.

With the help of 3AW and Prestige Jayco, Father Bob's nomadic wish been enabled as Melbourne's most popular priest was awarded with a brand new motor home this morning.

UPDATE: Denis Walter thanks listeners, website readers, Twitter followers and Facebook fans but he reckons he knows what his mystery fruit is now; Garcinia!

EARLIER: Denis Walter really wants to know what fruit this is.

We have posted the image on Twitter and Facebook as well as here in the hope we get a definitive answer.

Suggestions so far include; choko, custard apple, fig, a type of quince, a crab apple, a sign of global warming, a green guava, an artichoke.

Father Bob’s final service

After 48 years, educating and entertaining those who have attended his Parish, Father Bob will deliver his final mass this Sunday.

The service will start at 10am at South Melbourne’s St Peter and Paul’s Church on the corner of Dorcas and Montague street and it is expected to draw a crowd of thousands.

Regardless of your religious beliefs, Father Bob’s service is bound to be one you will never forget.

Moonlight Cinema

If you’re in the mood for romance or looking for fun with friends, head down to Moonlight Cinema.

You can pack a picnic and a rug or hire a bean bed from the venue and relax as you take in a new release or a golden oldie.

The films usually screen from Tuesday through to Sunday nights and start at about 8.30

Between the Bays – Music Festival

Saturday 25th January, 2012

Pack the car and head down to the beautiful surrounds of the Mornington Peninsula for the Between the Bays music festival.

The family friendly festival will include performances by Mark Seymour, Custard and Jordie Lane

There will be a huge range of local gourmet food and drink and a variety of market stalls you can wonder through

Gates open at 11am and the last band will finish at about 9pm.
