3AW Breakfast Entertainment Reporter Peter Ford discusses the Ben Cousins documentary Such Is Life that will air on Channel Seven on Wednesay and Thursday this week.

3AW REPORT: The screening of the Ben Cousins documentary on Wednesday and Thursday nights will focus the minds of parents and teachers.

Many teenagers are expected to watch it and child psychologist Peter Antenenko says its important parents discuss the progam with their children.

"I think restricting kids and adolescence from watching this kind of things is not going to any good for anyone. This stuff is available, it's out there. As long as they see that this sort of behaviour is not acceptable".

But parents are being advised not to allow their children to watch the program alone this week.

Brian Burgess from the Association of Secondary Principals is urging parents not to ignore the issues it raises.

When you are loved and looked upon as a legend in the public eye like Ben Cousins.
When his playing he would be on such a high and when his of the feild life seems boreing and you find your self chaseing that same buzz Some buy exspensive toys, some gamble ,some chase women,some seem to be able to handle it and in Bens case drugs. I think once his football is over after a wile things will calm down and he will be ok.
I hope i am right saying his not a drug adict , just a party head chaseing that buzz if he is theres no way in the world he would have been able to continue to play football
