Emirates Airlines have confirmed that one of its flight crew was unable to fly last Thursday, which caused a two-hour delay while a replacement pilot reported was located.

"One of the flight crew of our EK412 service from Sydney to Auckland was unable to fly on Thursday August 26th, which meant a two hour delay to the flight while a replacement pilot reported for duty. We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused."

Emirates is unable to comment on the reason that the pilot was unfit to fly until internal investigations into the incident are completed.
