Gary Ablett Rumour File: July 15

Gary Ablett - the talk will continue all year?

An excited John Burns told 3AW Breakfast listeners a 93-year-old man, who has now passed away, left $7 million to Gary Ablett Junior to stay at Geelong but the will is now being contested in the courts.

After hearing this 'bombshell', sports reporter Jon Anderson went for the watercooler, pressed the 'cold' button to dispense some water into his glass and then proceeded to tip the substance all over Burnso's rumour.

Even after hearing Ando's spiel, Burnso said his source is reliable and he still believes in his initial report.

Meanwhile, Ando - a man with close ties to the Abletts - said the Brownlow Medalist's 'almost definite' move to the Gold Coast 'Suns' is not as concrete as some people may think.

The Gold Coast Suns?

Karmichael Hunt RUMOUR FILE UPDATE: The Rumour File is told the new AFL Gold Coast team will be nicknamed the 'Suns'. Ross Stevenson says printing factories have been a great source of 'Rumour As Facts' over the years. Click on Karmichael Hunt for yesterday's Rumour as almost fact?

  • I sold up and moved from the Gold Coast to Geelong 5 years ago. Best move I ever made, the Goldie ain't what she used to be Gazza. I was so glad to get out of there!! Good for a holiday that's about it.
