Firefighter attempting Mt Everest equivalent

A Melbourne firefighterhas successfully climbed the equivalent of Mount Everest - right here in Melbourne.

Scott McGraw, 39, set off on his journey to conquer Eureka Tower 31 times at at 6:00am, and in just over 11.5 hours, 2728 floors and 51,000 steps, crossed the finished finish line.

Each time Scott climbed from the ground floor to Level 88, he climbed 1,642 stairs and a height of 284 metres.

He's hoping the attempt will raise money for charity partners Whitelion and Interplast Australia & New Zealand.
