BACKGROUND: John Burns, after receiving a tip-off from a friend, was convinced the above MG was for him.

Trusting and reasonable man that he is, Burns paid for the vehicle in advance before the roadworthy for the vehicle was obtained.

  • Well if you can understand why BP had do much trouble with the oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico, you will also understand the poms cant seal oil anywhere, Including your car.. Its a great looker, but would you get a car that leaks all over the place?

  • Congratulations - don't listern to all the soothsayers of doom. The MGA is best of the MGs and very reliable (even if it does leak a bit of oil now and then)! Contact the MG Car Club if you need futher moral support.

  • Hear you busted an axle on the MG, Burnso, falling apart already??

Hope it does not take too long to fix and does not cost the earth, don't think warranty would cover it though as it is way past 10 years old.

    Given Ross a drive?

  • Hi John 'again' yes, I loved my beautiful red MGA 1600 years ago, but when I took out my lovely girlfriend who was a model, with a clothes change and Hat Box, there was nowhere to put anything, the boot only had room for the spare wheel, but it was still a great car. Yes, I am a lot older than you and still drive and own a very nice (bigger) sports car.
