Rock Of Ages on 3AW Breakfast
The search is on for a bright new Broadway talent with a twist ... this leading man needs big hair a rock star look and tight, tight stonewash jeans.
Rock of Ages is a musical hit on Broadway with productions now planned around the world. The Melbourne show opens in April next year. Nominated for five 2009 Tony Awards the musical already has a cult following.
With the sensation now heading to Melbourne there is just one thing missing – a leading man. Ross and John have agreed to help find the right man for this starring role ... but classically trained pros or pop princes need not apply. This singer needs a pure but gritty rock sound, and plenty of attitude.
That’s why Ross and John want to ask YOU to give it a go. If you’ve always fancied yourself a bit of rock star with a passion for the 80’s rock sound, and you’ve got a bit of talent, then this could be the opportunity for you.
Perhaps you’re in a band that’s been covering 80’s rock since 1994 and can’t let go ... this is the opportunity to expose your talent to those who will appreciate it most.
GIVE IT A GO: Ross and John have a direct line with the Producers of the Australian production of Rock of Ages. Check out the preview trailer to get an idea of what the show’s about and if you think you fit the criteria – or you just want to give it a go – send us 30 seconds (no more) of video or audio of your best rendition of an 80’s rock song of choice.

Five people will win two A Reserve Tickets for their trouble and still be in the running for this amazing opportunity. Don’t forget - if you’re what they are looking for you could be asked along to the open audition day on August 14.
The ultimate candidate will be flown to the US for a final audition with the American producers.
