  • David Blackburn- Not sure where you've been for the past year or so, but I've seen Barresi at least half a dozen times meeeting and greeting voters. Meanwhile, Symon has been MIA since 07. Pathetic.

  • Where's the lies Patrick? This piece of junk mail from Barresi is the first I've heard from him since November 2007. If he's been "chatting" with the electorate in Blackburn, I have one question.
    "Where?"
P.S. Where is the innuendo you mentioned. I didn't make any.

  • Looks like the ALP dirt machine is on the prowl in Deakin. Haven't got a good thing to say about their 'do nothing incumbent' so they turn to laying it on thick on Phil Barresi by pedalling lies, innuendo, and falsities. Same old Labor.

I would like to point out to David that Phil has been very active in the electorate, even more so since he was endorsed as the Liberal candidate over 12 months ago covering the length and breadth of the electorate two or three times over speaking to residents, business, schools, and anyone wanting to chat about local issues.

If you haven't got anything nice or constructive to say it's best left unsaid. Just like the absent Labor member's silence on a lot of issues.

  • I too received this piece of junk mail yesterday. I'm wondering where Barresi's been in the four years he was thrown out of Parliament. I've been a voter in his area all my life and the only time I've ever seen him was at a local polling booth was on an election day. Never hear anything of any value he's done in Fantasyland ACT.
He asks one or two questions in the house scripted by the "toe the line" writers and that's it.
It'll be a hot day in Antarctica before I'd even consider voting for this has-been. Mind you I suppose you need to have been something at one stage or another to be a has-been.

  • As far as the standards of physical testing for police recruits, as a current serving member I am astounded at the minimum standard. When i joined up, i had the wooden fence, platform, chain link fence dummy drag and the swim. These days the new recruits can hardly lift their own body weight. I support equal opportunity but if your a female and can't complete basic physical tests I won't work with you. I won't risk my safety for political correctness. For the record, I'm a female.
