REPORT: Collingwood has defeated the Western Bulldogs by 62 points in the qualifying final at the MCG on Saturday night.

The Magpies led all night - by 19 pts at quarter-time, 32 at half-time and ran out convincing winners by doubling the Bulldogs score (17.22 124 to 8.14 62) in front of a crowd of 66,545.

The Pies shared the attack with 10 players kicking goals.

Dane Swan was best afield and booted three goals, as did Steele Sidebottom.

Collingwood's major concern is an ankle injury to Sharrod Wellingham, although the week off will help his chances of returning during the side's premiership challenge.

The Bulldogs struggled all night and could never get their game going against the Magpies pressure Ryan Griffen with 2 goals and 34 possessions was their best.

In other results St Kilda have earned the week off with a hard fought four-point win against Geelong on Friday night.

The Cats now meet Fremantle next Friday night after the Dockers eliminated Hawthorn at Subiaco with a 30-point win over the Hawks.
