Geelong superstar Gary Ablett won 3AW Football's Player Of The Year for season 2009 ahead of Collingwood midfielder Dane Swan.

Ablett - who won $10,000 with thanks to TAB Sportsbet - polled 26 votes in the competition which was decided upon by 3AW Football experts adjudicating on a 3-2-1 voting award after every AFL match this year.
