James Hird 'won't' coach Essendon

WHISPERS: Gerard Healy and Dwayne Russell's famous Sports Today source, Whispers, has said Essendon coach Matthew Knights can now rest easier because club legend James Hird is about to to declare he will not coach the club 'now .. or ever'.

It's a case of wait and see if Whispers is on the money, as he so often is, but here is the audio of Gerard, Dwayne and Leigh Matthews discussing the situation at the embattled Bombers, which are holding a board meeting tonight according to reports.

THURSDAY: Essendon coach Matthew Knights says he's confident of serving out his tenure at the Bombers.

Knights says he's contracted until the end of 2012 and he plans to finish the job he started.
