Kennett again slams AFL drug policy

Jeff Kennett's interview today is a 'must watch'

Hawthorn President Jeff Kennett reveals he is 'disappointed' Travis Tuck did not approach him after his second drug 'strike', but also slams the AFL for its medicos apparently telling the depressed player he should not tell the Hawks.

It emerged after Tuck's GHB overdose on Friday night he had tested positive to illegal drugs for a third time and has since been banned by the AFL for 12 matches.

In this very frank interview, Kennett says:

- He has written to the AFL to say how 'absurd' it was he or Hawks CEO Stuart Fox had no idea what was going on in Travis' life.

- The Hawthorn club doctor, who knew about Tuck's depression and drug issues, was 'compromised'.

- One AFL club president said in an AFL commission meeting he did not want to know if a player at his team was on drugs.

- He's like to think Hawthorn could've helped Tuck avoid a relapse which saw him almost die on Friday night.

- The AFL has not done everything it can to help Travis Tuck and the league's drug policy 'is wrong'.

- The stigma attached to drug use should be removed and AFL players should talk publicly about their drug use.
