ROOTY: The Prime Minister has faced angry questioning and been forced to defend her decision to depose Kevin Rudd during a public forum overnight.

Ms Gillard, along with Opposition leader Tony Abbott, was questioned for an hour on stage at a Sydney RSL club.

She admits there were significant errors made by the ALP government, which led to her move against Mr Rudd.

Ms Gillard says while it was a good government, the leadership had to change.

  • Gee Dale..which gay communities have you been hanging around?
I'm hetrosexual but have the ability to believe all human beings should have equal rights regardless of their gender, race, age, sex, sexual preference, religion, weight etc.

But then I'm not afraid of
homosexuals/bi sexuals,Who are trying to get along in their lives the same way we are. I remember once apon a time women had no rights at all and wernt allowed to vote...Dark skinned people were only good for slavery.

I can't wait for this discrimination to be over...only to be followed by another....because basically many in the human race are still primitive thinkers living in the dark ages. Homophobics. What a terrific term.

  • Adrian, there is something called privilege that I suggest you look up. White, straight, male Christians are in absolutely no position to cry about oppression in this country. You have every single opportunity afforded to you. You have the choice to marry the person you love, if you so desire. But you would withhold that choice from a gay person because you think they just dont need to be married? Aside from being the worlds greatest gesture of love, commitment and fidelity being married affords certain legal rights in areas like property, inheritance and immigration. If marriage is solely for procreation, I guess I shouldnt bother because I am infertile thanks to a medical disorder. And maybe I should tell my widowed grandfather he cant remarry, because at his age he wont be having any more children. heaven forbid the gays make a mockery out of the institution that people like Britney Spears and Richard Pratt have upheld with such reverence. Privilege and ignorance are a dangerous combination.

  • Sorry to disappoint you Matt, but we don't stone to death gay couples in THIS country~! YES I do support Gay Marriage. Why shouldn't the gay community have the same rights to happiness & security as anyone else in this country?

  • It's time we took the word "gay" away from the homosexual community, they can have "sad". It suits their lifestyle and personalities much better.

  • This lady says that gay couples are being discriminated against. Can she explain in what way. No one is saying that they cant be together. If it is about marriage, why do you need to be married. There are couples who live in defacto there whole life. And what about respecting others view. Our culture teaches us that we should respect one another, but she has no respect for Christians who apose on the basis of what the Bible says. I would actually say that Christians are discriminated more than gays. You only have to look at some of the above comments to realise that Christians cop more in the publics eyes then anyone else. But I have never seen christians go to court saying they are discriminated. I think the whole thing is a joke. If you want to live together it is your choice, but dont destroy the purpose for marriage which is for procreation, believe it or not. I havent seen any medical evidence that shows me that two men can have a baby, or even two woman can have a baby. Our society has gone ferrel.
