Fevola with Michael Voss

PLAYING NOW: Neil Mitchell reveals the AFL will investigate Brendan Fevola amidst claims he circulated an image he captured of Lara Bingle when she was in the shower.

UPDATE: The AFL has refused to say what sanctions may be applied to Brendan Fevola if it finds he acted inappropriately in the Lara Bingle nude photo scandal.

The photo has appeared in a women's magazine this week and it's believed to have been circulated among other AFL players.

AFL Operations Manager Adrian Anderson says the league will speak to the Brisbane forward and the Lions before going any further.

8:30AM: 3AW Mornings can reveal exclusively that league Operations Manager Adrian Anderson will fly to Brisbane to question Fevola and the Brisbane Lions over the allegations, which has resulted in Bingle taking legal action against the ex-Blues bad boy.

Should Fevola be punished by the league if he was found to have:

a) taken the photograph
b) circulated it to friends and therefore ensuring it eventually became public

Your comments will be read on air.

Blog comments Your Say

  • AFL should stick to running the game and helping the 2 new teams. They will need all the help they can get. Leave the Hollywood gossip to the Media and legal vultures waiting to pounce. The bringing the game into disrepute rule is so broad, it will nail your for almost anything. Younger players be very careful and learn by this.

  • Okay people, lets move on. Clarkey has gotten rid of her and can now do what he does best and loves....play cricket. Keeping it all in the media is just giving Lara Bingle more exposure, and I think I have seen quite enough of her "exposure".

  • Some interesting questions.

What was the AFL Policy with regards to women at the time of the alleged offence?

If Carlton knew of the photo (if it was distributed this would be the case) why did they not inform the AFL? I am sure the AFL would have already known.

Why isnt Laura Bingle suing the Womans Weekly for printing this photo? They have distributed these images nationally. If Fevola is found innocent (lol) then the womans weekly are liable for knowingly publishing a private image (unless it was a setup to grab some headlines with Lauras/Max consent).

Laura exposes herself herself to greater degrees on the internet willingly. How can she suffer humility from this photo? Does it need airbrushing?

  • I just googled Lara Bingle using Google images

First page I got 4 pics which were more raunchy than the one in the weekly, (And that was in safe mode) this has to be nothing more than a publicity stunt.

Any way what does it have to do with the AFL Are they going to put up cameras and watch everything all players do.

    Don't just single out Fev.

Lets hope Fev and his family don't get hurt because of it.

  • Remember this all happened while he was at Carlton so if there is any one AFL should blame it is Carlton for not controlling him.

Brisbane appears to have him well looked after as his behaviour has been exemplary since he has been there

  • To the 3aw Web Team, Yes I did notice that and to that extent you should be commended.

The interview with the Womens Day was also commendable.

However, you are still getting fair mileage out of it, without all the facts and leaving no doubt where the photo can be found, not that it was hidden.
