What’s On
Camellia Festival on Saturday 21 August, from 1 - 5 pm. and Sunday 22 August from 10 am to 4.30 pm in the Mount Waverley Community Centre, Miller Crescent, Mt. Waverley. Entry is $5.  

Camellias are bursting with blooms and colour in our gardens at the moment and there will be a great display of all types of camellia blooms.  There will be plants for sale and Devonshire Teas. Go along and see the “Queen of the Winter Flowers Festival”.

Stinging Nettles
Kill with boiling water, if chemical control is not possible

Uses – blanche, to get rid of the stings, boil to make nettle soup (Google recipes on the web) or put into a bucket of water, keep for fortnight and it will froth and bubble, and use as a fertiliser
