Brumby Government 'wastes millions'
PLAYING NOW: Premier John Brumby in the studio with Neil Mitchell.
REPORT: The state government has been accused of wasting taxpayers money after it revealed millions of dollars of new irrigation infrastructure will have to be relocated.
Many irrigation meters and gates installed in the Shepparton and Central Goulburn area over the past two years as part of minor water projects will be demolished and rebuilt as part of the over-arching FutureFlow scheme.
Shadow Minister for Country Water, Peter Walsh, says the money wasted is in the hundreds of millions.

I live in Shepparton, we have been telling you people in the city, that what Brumby was doing was illigal and incompedent. If any of you are interested Sharman Stone and associates are fighting one hell of a fight to protect the farmers. And still Brumby gets away with squandering Millions of our dollars, wake up Victorians your State needs you to protect it from fools like Brumby.

Any people interested may want to take a look at this link with respect to the lies and spin on the NS Pipeline:

When is the media going to stop listenening to the spin and lies from this govt re water (and other issues). Firstly, Holding has spun that the North South Pipeline has the capacity to reverse pump back from Sugarloaf to the Goulburn. Thats a tad difficult when no pump exists at the Sugarloaf end. Secondly, Brumby & Holding recently stated that 16gl of water had been sent down the North South Pipe from upgrades. Wrong again, the real "savings" from the upgrades was only 2gl with the balance being from environmental reserve. Thirdly, and as pointed out by the Auditor General, where is the business case and business model for this wasteful program?
Wake up Melbourne. The amount wasted on the Pipe and on corresponding spin could have been better used in water harvesting and recycling of water currently going out to Port Philip Bay.

Melbourne is so far behind the 8 ball on all counts, that hopes for a stable, successful city is quickly fading.
Our government is throwing money around while it neglects starves the city and its people of development.
Crime is out of control, infrastructure is disintegrating, poverty is growing and pressure is increasing; all the while the government is not held to account and is failing its state.Lee Firan Tuesday 8 June, 2010 - 5:19 PM -
'Spin Doctor John's' government wasting millions?
Nah... Mere petty pilfering!
This half-wit government of ours wouldn't know what or where to spend money responsibly. What do they care, it's not theirs.
Brumby wouldn't dare dip into his own pension fund to help fill in the black hole he's created by his inept financial mismanagement.
And we're yet to hear how many $$$billions he borrowed to help try and fill it when he recently visited China.
That's what the trip was all about, right... 'Spin Doctor'?
The black hole this Labor government has created for Victoria will take a long time to fill. Unfortunately the longer 'Spin Doctor John' & Co. are pilfering the states finances; the hole will remain a 'bottomless pit'...!!!Gerard Tuesday 8 June, 2010 - 2:59 PM -
why are we upgrading water meters for farmers when farmers are leaving the land and water is being bought back for the environment.
Our farmers are being exterminated by our politicians to accomidate the corporatisation of farming by foreign corporates. Already the biggest user of water on the Murray is Olam which is a Singapore owned business partly funed by the Singapore governmentMark Tuesday 8 June, 2010 - 12:13 PM
