Charges over wild Box Hill brawl
PLAYING NOW: A witness to the massive brawl between two groups of young men at the Box Hill Centro speaks to 3AW's Ross and John.
REPORT: Police have charged six men following a fight at the Centro Whitehorse Plaza in Box Hill yesterday afternoon.
Police arrested nine men and three were released without charge.
The other six, ranging in ages from 18 - 23 years and from the eastern and south eastern suburbs were charged with affray.
They were bailed by police to appear in the Ringwood Magistrate's Court at a later date.

Maybe ethnicity shouldn't matter but it does matter, Nelly. How long will it be before some innocent bystander is caught up and seriously hurt or worse, killed, in one of these multicultural wars - and its not just in Box Hill either.

This is a bit exaggerated.. the reporter seem like a racist subliminateley try to send out a message to the public about two particular groups, the way he was doing this was by asking the type of two groups that were fighting, he was trying to get the girl to say 1 group was black and 1 group was islander to send fear to the public. the girl didnt really think about the colour of the men fighting wen she was asked wat type of young men they were, she said they were angry young men, not young black men. the article says, 9 men were arrested, does it matter wat colour the skin of the trouble makers were? they are all men

All I know is Im sick of these people, regardlees of where they come from brining vioence into this beautiful country of ours! Why are they hanging around shopping centres etc and not at the beach the parks, surfing or playing sport, instead of hanging around in "their" groups looking for trouble.We need Police on the beat moving these groups off inorder to prevent this type of incident.

Ethnic gangs are a problem in many places in Australia, with all the political correctness today the police have their hands tied trying to arrest and prosecute anyone,No matter where they are from, it is no reason to violate the laws of this country and then have the do-gooders(like syd & tao) claim its because of where they are from and racist white boys, This behavior is not and should not be tolerated........

omg why are ppl writing these hate comments, this proves to me why other ppl in the community regard Aussies as racist. U ppl are too quick to judge without a clue to what really caused the issue. All u see or hear about on TV, police etc is the end result of something, not the start. Don't believe this bias media, the cover one side of the story to brainwash the community and the media seems to be succeeding in putting a certain group into the spot light. I have to admit that this country is becoming an openly racist society that fails to gather all the facts for well thought opinion. PPl are deliberating taking advantage of this poor judgment by the community by Assaulting the African Youth, and when the African youth try to defend themselves by taking the fight to their attackers, the community automatically puts the blame on them, that's is unjust and appalling. What happened in Box hill few days ago was exactly the same, Islander ppl firstly punching and attacking the African kids enjoying their freedom of movement, the Africans simply took the fight to the aggressors and now the community is whinging about them. CAN'T THEY PROTECT THEMSELVES JUST LIKE ANYONE ELSE WOULD?????.
