Debate rages over unseen doco
Hinch says he has received a flood of feedback via email regarding the Ben Cousins, which most people in Australia haven't even seen yet.
One father who lost his son to drugs apparently emailed Hinch saying the doco will help people, while Joanne - who spoke on-air Thursday - has a very different view.

I haven't heard the calls but I must say that watching the doc last night made me feel like wanting to experience the joy of taking something that makes you feel so good.So obviously it has a negative effect on society & the message seems to make drugs look appealing.I hope tonight he speaks about the bad things about drug taking,the bad feelings it gives you & how hard it is to get off.I am detoxing from codeine & it's not pleasant when that nice feeling goes & cravings are what you are left with.I'd like more of this to be shown tonight to actually put people OFF wanting to experience the effects of drugs.So easy to become addicted,so difficult to get off.

if one more former addict rings up and says they felt like getting back on drugs because of Ben Cousins I will spew up wake up every former addict is looking for an excuse or someone to blame for relapsing thats the issue taking responsibility for your own actions not looking for someone to blame for what you feel like doing everyday because your battle is going on in your head and searching for a reason any reason to give in to that constant craving we ask people to talk share their experiences then we attack them for their delivery and loose sight of the issue so more people with lots to offer are detered society needs to focus on the issue not the person his message not his smirk you have only recieved half the message so far........

I WATCHED THE BEN COUSINS DOCUMENTARTY AND TO ME HE THOUGHT IT WAS A JOKE. AND MAKING A LOT MONEY OUT OF IT. I WISH MY SON HAD THE HELP THAT HE GOT.HE TRIED TO BOOK INTO DIFFERENT PLACES BUT NOTHING AVAILABLE.I LOST HIM IN 1998. AND HE WAS MY ONLY CHILD.IT TOOK A TOLL ON MY HUSBAND WITH THE DRINK AND FEELING GUILTY. AND I LOST HIM IN 2006. SO HE WANTS TO THANK HIS LUCKY STARS THAT HE IS STILL HERE TO TALK ABOUT IT.MY SON ISN'T

Having family knowledge of addiction, my fear is that a couple of years is not long enough to truly deal with the problem. There needs to be a a selfish effort & it appears his father may have been there as a safety net too many times..I fear we may yet see an unfortunate footnote to his story

My 13 year old son watched this documentary he will not be watching tonight thats for sure I think Ben Cousins has glorified drug taking he was smug had no regrets about what he has done he is no role model for our kids to be watching Get Him Off the TV
