Donna's Gossip Sheet: November 26

ABOVE: Emma Freedman, Gary Ablett and Lauren Phillips.
PRIZE FOR THIS WEEK'S DONNA'S COMPETITION (scroll down for how to enter) – DVD of Cliff Richard and the Shadows Live in London 2009 (Via Vision and Madman).
"I shop online when I'm jet-lagged at three o'clock in the morning," says Toni Collette when she popped down to Melbourne to visit friends and open the LOUIS VUITTON store at Chadstone Shopping Centre.
Big tick for Gary Ablett Junior who was accosted by scores of eager fans at a charity event. The talented Geelong footballer was considerate to every single person who approached and happily obliged the seemingly endless requests for autographs. And he never stopped smiling! By the way, seems he also loves his chocolate as he polished off the dessert in one fell swoop! Looked like he’d licked his plate clean!
"Good on her. She's going out on a high," says celebrity chef Curtis Stone about Oprah Winfrey's decision to retire at the end of her 25th season next year. "But she still has plenty of other projects of course," adds Stone, who has appeared on the US daytime show.
Underbelly's Gyton Grantley will be co-hosting the ARIA (Recording Industry) awards this Thursday but has admitted to me that while he loves music, one of the only places he'd dare sing out loud is in the shower. Other mega stars at the awards night include Robbie Williams and Keith Urban.
Packed to the Rafters star George Houvardas (Carbo) is hoping to follow in the footsteps of Eric Bana. "I know I will probably by typecast because of my role on the series but if Eric can go from comedy skits to Hollywood star, then hopefully one day I can to."
12 farmers, including two women, are on the hunt for a partner as Channel Nine announces the search is on for Aussie singles for season five of the popular reality show. The show has spawned one wedding, two engagements and a baby.
Spotted: Channel Ten sports presenter Christi Malthouse with baby (nearing his first birthday) saying hi to Santa at the Crown Christmas Spectacular.
There's going to be outrage and despair for thousands of fans with George Michael announcing an Australian tour which doesn't include Melbourne. The original announcement includes only Perth and Sydney but a six-day gap between shows should give a glimmer of hope to local fans.
Spotted: Buddy Franklin and his girlfriend Kasia Z telling a local snapper to back off when he tried to take a photo of the glamour couple mingling with the well-heeled crowd at the Louis Vuitton opening at Chadstone Shopping Centre. It seems the couple just don't want to be photographed together. Full stop.
Charity of the week: Ever wanted to see Daniel Giansiracusa or Adam Cooney wrap a gift? The footy stars will join a host of others helping out the Starlight Foundation this Saturday afternoon in the City Square as part of the Celebrity Christmas Wrap Party. Paper and ribbon will be supplied.

Last week's winner of a 3 DVD Australian Icon pack and a family pass to A Christmas Carol at Imax: Mark from Hawthorn: The nicest celebrity I ever met was Ben Elton who chatted for about half an hour after being given complimentary drinks at the Glenferrie Hotel. He was warm and charming.

I agree Donna & Elena. Cannot understand why there is no concert(s) for George Michael in Melb. Perhaps one venue was unavailable but we have SO MANY others... it does NOT make any sense. George's ppl & his promoter Paul Dainty need to sort this out, it is outrageous and just plain wrong!! Anyone who feels the same way should help spread the word and join the throng of Vic fans who are less than impressed at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=189286801355&ref=mf

You are absolutely right! George last time had 4 sold out shows in Melbourne... so why not now?
