Election debate v Masterchef
UPDATE: The power of the MasterChef TV ratings juggernaut has forced the leaders' debate to be relegated to the 6.30pm timeslot this Sunday.
It has been confirmed that Prime Minister Julia Gillard will face off against Opposition leader Tony Abbott - with Sky News political editor David Speers moderating the hour-long debate.
EARLIER: Julia Gillard's defending the decision to hold just one election debate, this Sunday night, up against the ratings juggernaut MasterChef.
The Coalition wanted three debates, a request it says former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd was expected to honour.
But Ms Gillard says she's gone head to head against Tony Abbott many times in the parliament.
She is hopeful there will be enough interest in the debate despite its clash with MasterChef.
Will you watch it? If not, will you tape it and watch it later?
Neil Mitchell's Election Coverage

I would have TOTALLY watched the debate!!!! Masterchef is a stupid commercial reality TV show, that screenwriters supposed would do their job for them because they are too lazy to come up with an orginal plot. Stupid Masterchef. I think the election of this country is more important than some trivial tv show. It's ridiculous!!

There is no way I would miss the final of Masterchef. Would have listened if it was at another time.
