Labor takes battering in polls
PLAYING NOW: Neil Mitchell and Michael Pacchi discuss the terrible poll results for the Australian Labor Party.
The Coalition claims the latest opinion poll shows increasing voter concern that the Gillard Government is "ineffective" and can't run the country.
The Nielsen survey shows primary support for Labor has slumped to a 15-year low, while the Coalition has opened a 12-point lead over Government after preferences.
Senior Liberal Senator Simon Birmingham says voters have clearly lost confidence in the Government.
Meanwhile, nineteen leading food and grocery manufacturers have co-signed a joint industry letter to the Prime Minister about the carbon tax.
They've warned that higher energy costs will impact on the price of local food putting them at a disadvantage against cheaper, imported products.
PM wants to hear from YOU
Julia Gillard has continued to wage her war of words with 'commentators' and says they have little grasp on real public opinion. We will arrange to send the audio from the program and the comments you leave online to the PM.

Julia it is time. Are you so ego driven that you fail to see that the people of Australia do not want you as their leader. The carbon tax is only a tax. You cannot make a difference to the carbon emissions situation in Australia with this pretend tax. We all know that why do you fail to see that. Where were your supporters on Saturday, even they are not convinced you are right for the partylet alone the country.

This Government is an Aircraft without a rudder.
After seeing 60 minutes last night which confirmed our belief's that the so called Asylum seekers are all cashed up when they arrive and are getting five star sevice whilst the Aged Pensioners are once again left behind to eat the scraps. How dare you Miss Gillard leave us in the cold to favour the so called refugees who take advantage of you daily and are not Australians. Wake up labor your history. The Seniors Monday 16 May, 2011 - 1:45 PM -
Come on Julia, dream up a couple more idiotic ideas and lets see how low you can go.
If your paying people for advise, they are ripping you off.Jesse Monday 16 May, 2011 - 1:16 PM -
The Australian People have lost their trust in Julia Gillard and this incompetent and wasteful Labor Government, Yes, it is there for all to see.

you blog correspondents are listening to the wrong radio station....you should be tuned into MTR....where your 'right wing' opinions would be appreciated, not 3AW with its lefties [Mitchell, Hinch, Bruce and Phil]. I've never read an anti-Gillard comment yet, and she's as 'right winged' as Labour can get.
