Coydon's Luther College was placed into lockdown this morning following a police incident nearby, which was described as being quite dramatic by a talkback caller who witnessed the police operation.

The alert 3AW Radio posted on Twitter regarding the incident and lockdown was then answered by a student who was in the Luther College.

"We are in class so we can't see much, it was a scheduled drill at first but now there is something," she Tweeted to 3AW's http://twitter.com/3AW693.

After the first talkback call, Neil Mitchell said the situation appears to have been resolved and calm restored.

The 3AW host said two people are in custody.

A police spokesman told 3AW at least one of the offenders was wanted interstate over an aggravated  burglary involving a firearm.

"‘The biggest issues for the school’s safety is that it’s literally about 30 metres away from the school," he said.

"‘From the principal's point of view, he wanted to make sure the school is safe."

Listen to the storm before the calm below.
