'Melbourne Idol' for CBD Buskers
Lord Mayor Robert Doyle's call for buskers to face auditions before they get the go-ahead to perform on Melbourne streets has given us an idea.
We would like people who wish to busk on Melbourne streets, or just want to show their talents, to send us videos of themselves performing - the best of these to receive a prize, be published on the 3AW website.
The MAJOR WINNER will be invited to perform in the 3AW studio with Neil Mitchell and we will give the top three entries double passes to the Rock Of Ages extravaganza coming to Melbourne next year.
Maybe a budding entertainment career can be launched!
Email your video entries (under 10mb) to nmitchell@3aw.com.au or send in a DVD to:

ENTRY 1: James Ruffat
"My name is James Rufatt and I'm a musician who plays guitar, harmonica and vocals and busk occasionally in the city.
I have a TV performance of Love Me Tender posted on YouTube recorded back in 1994."
ENTRY 2: Josiah Brooks (sent in by Ana Wines)
ENTRY 3: Jessica Paige
"Below is the link for a doco made by RMIT students about me busking in Melbourne recently. The song you can hear on the short doco, Never Never Land, is bound for my soon-to-be released debut album. I play a mix of originals and covers when I busk (usually 10pm - 2am Fri and Saturday nights). I am a full time musician and play many other gigs etc as well."
Denis' busk a major success
