Neil Mitchell Doona Report
Neil Mitchell phone through from under his doona to have a crack at the Western Regional Football League after they suspended a junior umpire for speaking out against footy violence.
Earlier this week "Joe" spoke to Ross and John about how he was threatened by players and, due to increasing violence, he called the game was called off.
Neil also had his say on Julia Gillard's photo shoot with Women's Weekly.
JUNIOR FOOTY VIOENCE:
An under-14s umpire who was threatened at a junior football match has reportedly been stood down for talking to the media.
The Herald Sun says Luke Cornwall has been suspended for one match by the Western Region Football League after an inquiry.
Werribee Juniors coach Scott Mizzi received an eight-week ban for threatening to 'fix up' Cornwall for calling off a game against Point Cook
WHERE'S MY KNIFE POLICY?: Opposition leader Tony Abbott has announced he will crackdown on violent gang and knife crime if elected.
While campaigning in Melbourne Mr Abbott pledged to create a national violent gang data base and a squad to police them.
Mr Abbott says he will fund more metal detectors for police to help them remove knives from the streets
Junior footy violence on Rumour File
The Rumour File alerts 3AW Breakfast to four separate junior football matches on Sunday called off due to violence both on and off the field. This prompted more callers to ring in with reports of yet more junior matches called off due to on field melees.
