Neil Mitchell Law and Order survey
Law and Order will be a major issue in this coming state election and 3AW's Neil Mitchell wants to know what you think on this hot topic.
Today on the Mitchell Program, Neil announced he is surveying Melbourne to obtain a snapshot of what you really think on Law and Order.
This morning Ray Kitchingman, CEO of Chandler Communication, explained how the survey will be taken.
10,000 Victorians will receive mail-outs containing a simple questionnaire and the results will be tallied and released on 3AW Mornings.
We want your help to ask the questions.
Do you feel safe in our city? Do we need more police on the streets? Has a culture of ultra-violence emerged in Melbourne?
What questions do you want to know the answer to?

Zero tolerance and tougher sentencing, regardless of age. Courts must hold these people responsible and not allow "excuses" to pollute justice. There is no justice for the victims who have to live with the consequences. Swap these offenders with good quality people on Christmas Island. At least most of these people want to live in peace and start a new life.

Zero tolerance , 20 year bond on immigrants, if convicted of a crime deport them. They should show respect to the country and people that in many cases have saved there lives

Alexas, it doesn't matter how many new Police cars you buy or how many more cops you put out on the street, unless they are motivated to do something, it won't make the slightest difference~! If anything, we need to make better use of technology. You're better off e-mailing the Commish. At least with a paper trail, it's very hard for Vic Police to deny existence of complaints. Vic Police have been refusing to issue Victims of Crime Reports for quite some time, and complaining to the Ombudsman or the OPI is just as futile~!

Alexas, I don't think it's a case of losing Law & Order... I think the crims are saying - if it's good enough for the pollies, it's good enough for them~! Who said 'brown paper bag' politics was just limited to Queensland and NSW~! :)

simply put we are losing LAW and Order in this state. The simple answer is to wage war on the criminals. Zero tolerance policy it needed and needed NOW! This is Brumby, bracks and Nixons mess and we need to fix it quickly. More Police , More ploice on the streets, in cars, walking the beat!

I was down from the country last Sat 13th and rode a train into the city, and was appalled at the wanton graffiti defacing every available surface along side the railway corridor. I commented to a commuter that the culprits should be made to clean it up. The penalty should be one month of five days a week, and the message would soon get around that only the imbeciles would keep it up.
