Call me cynical, but they do it for the ratings. 9s news content is generally average. It's not that they don't get up to date stories, it's the sensationalist way they report them - more weight is put on ratings than content, and it's no different with any of the commercial channels. If this makes you watch nine, then it only outlines the reasons why I don't.
