REPORT: Sly Of the Underworld and former world champion Barry Michael have fought out a thrilling draw in the Pancake Parlour bout at the Fighters Factory in Blackburn on Friday morning.

Ahead of one of the most highly-anticipated fights since 'The Rumble In The Jungle', the build-up had the hundreds in attendance at fever pitch.

Sly made a good start  to the fight by taking the points in Round One, but Michael hit back hard in Round Two with a number of blows landed on Sly's head and body.

To the complete surprise of everyone, the judges could not split the pair after an extremely violent Round Three.

Sly, with a steady flow of claret tricking from his face, thanked God - to be alive! Michael paid tribute Sly, telling the audience Sly was, indeed, dangerous.

"I could be charged with manslaughter he's that dangerous," said Michael.

Today's fight raised $10,000 for ery Special Kids, $5,000 to the Salvation Army and $5,000 to Rocky Lockridge who is currently in rehab after suffering a stroke.

Lockridge ended Michael's career in 1987 when he pounded him for eight rounds to take the IBF Super Featherweight title off the Australian in London.

  • Great radio and video for a great cause. Don't eat too much over the Christmas break Rossco and Burnso. By public demand in 2010 ... Rumble in the Airwaves ... three 3 minutes rounds (get a time keeper this time! hahaha) Ross "The Boss" Stevenson V John "Sir LunchALot" Burns. And I so advise.

  • Moe of this and less of Mitchell.
Good on you all of you and to the Pancake Parlour.
Not only did we get given a treat but the charities will also.
Better than the doom and gloom we have been getting lately

  • Most fun in ages at 7am! The conclusion of the fight was just right, but i was hoping for Sly to win -- Go the underdogs!

My prayers to Rocky. A relative of mine suffered a stroke too.

Wale's boxing demonstration pre-fight was stuntastic! I don't know who would win -- Barry Michael (at his prime) vs. Wale.
