Support Jeff Rowley's big wave cause

Big-wave Torquay surfer Jeff Rowley has been nominated by friends and peers for a coveted position in 'The Quiksilver In Memory of Eddie Aikau' big wave surfing event.
"Jeff is the title-holder of the 'biggest wave ever surfed in Victoria' mantle at 30+ feet at an outer reef in south-west Victoria last year," says 3AW's Gerard Healy.
"He's renowned for his capacity in giant waves, being regarded as one of the top tow-in surfers in the country. But this is a different challenge; having to paddle in under his own steam (unaided by a jetski) which makes it far more difficult getting down the face of these mountains!"
"A 30-foot wave, as measured by the Hawaiians where the Quiksilver is held, has a wave face of about 50 feet. These aren't your average big waves people see at places like Bells Beach they are in a completely different stratosphere and Jeff's ambition to paddle a 20-foot wave or bigger is a massive challenge."
Sports Today is getting behind Jeff's push to compete in the amazing event, but needs public support to help him receive one of only four worldwide invites issued.
To vote and sponsor Jeff visit his Facebook page (you will need a Facebook account) or follow these instructions:
1. Log onto www.polls.quiksilver.com
2. Enter your basic personal details
3. 'WRITE IN A RIDER' at bottom of webpage:
First name: Jeff
Last name: Rowley
Then click: 'Add'
4. Tick 23 invitees and 24 alternates. If you don't know the surfers please tick from top to bottom. Click “Continue” button to finish on site.
5. Please click link on Confirmation email you receive!
Jeff has founded 'Jeff Rowley - Charge for Charity' to use the publicity and support he is receiving to raise money for Keep A
Breast.
"I've got the opportunity to live my dreams, so it’s unreal to be able to raise money for Keep A Breast and make a difference in other peoples lives at the same time," said Rowley.
"If I catch a 20 foot wave and someone sponsors me $40 that equals $2 per foot, but we might even get bigger waves than that!"
"If I can raise $10,000 for people less fortunate than myself, then I am grateful and it's a success, but I know as a community we
can do more and help eradicate breast cancer."
