SUNDAY: It's believed police will allege the pair accused of murdering Herman Rockefeller met the millionaire businessman through a 'swingers' website.

Rockefeller was allegedly killed after an altercation with Mario Schembri and Bernadette Denny in a Hadfield house on January 21 or the early hours of January 22.

Police believe Rockefeller, who was last seen alive at Melbourne Airport on January 21, went to the Hadfield residence voluntarily on the basis of having an intended sexual liaison with the co-accused.

Herman Rockefeller's brother, Robert, told media on Saturday the family were 'devastated by Herman's loss and deeply shocked by the circumstances surrounding his death'.

Police have told the Rockefeller family of the latest developments and informed them that remains found in a Glenroy backyard on Friday night were of those of their missing relative.

Further tests are being carried out on the remains, with reports suggesting the body was dismembered before being burnt.

''This is an intensely painful time for all members of our immediate and extended family,'' he said. "The Rockefeller family has never sought a public focus or media attention and unforeseen and tragic circumstances changed this.''

Police are still not aware of a motive for the murder of Rockefeller, who is now known to have been living a double life during which he placed advertisements on 'swingers' and 'adult' sites.

In an out of sessions court hearing late Friday it was alleged Rockefeller was killed at the Hadfield home of Denny, 41.

Denny was charged by police along with partner Schembri, 57, with Rockefeller's body apparently later moved to the Glenroy address where a car for sale bore the same mobile phone number as a car in the Hadfield home's front yard.

The pair are due to face Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Rockefeller murder charges

The two people police detained on Thursday in relation to missing Melbourne millionaire Herman Rockefeller have now been charged with murder as 'human remains' are found.

Blog comments Your Say

  • I have always considered at the end of the scale of sexual adventures. I have an appetite, I'm willing to do anything normal, and frankly, I had a hard time finding men who could keep up. Blog From a good suggestion and then I met my boyfriend.

  • well allsop, perhaps YOU would rather that the entire 'lovel family' are also buried? That way they wouldn't have to go through whatever it is you are Imagining for the rest of their lives. & If you dropped dead too, you would stop stressing over it yourself! ..... Anyway, Who do YOU Think YOU Are to say who does & does not "deserve" a decent burial? Who died & made YOU GOD!!??? Oh, are you part of that family? "Who Cares, & what difference does that make?" .... None!
