Three men face race hate crimes

PLAYING NOW: Morning program legal expert David Galbally QC joined Justin Smith and Tom Elliott to discuss the three men who have been charged under racial villification laws.

Three men who taunted an Indian man on a bus have become the first to front court under the states racial villification laws.

Police allege the three racially and physically abused the student on a bus to Portsea in early February.

Two must face Frankston court in September the other will be summonsed at a later date.

  • Both Current affair and Today tonight and also 60 minutes have often aired racist content .
    Especially regarding Muslims.
    @Max yes that is a crime and bad bad thing but is the a justification to allow racism in a more educated and civilized country like Australia.
    I do not like it and often feel gutted while watching these current affair programs.
    Australia is a country where majority of people are racist and do not know that .

    I often get told to go home when ever I argue over this so before any body suggest the same here let me tell you "I am home :), Australia is my home and I am not going no where"

  • What a great thing to see. Now maybe A Current Affair and Today Tonight, could both be charged racial villification after both their shows regarding Muslims going to the Gold Coast.
