Tony Abbott reveals virginity stance
ABOVE (TUESDAY): Federal Opposition Leader Tony Abbott qualifies some controversial statements he made in a candid interview with a women's magazine.
Does Abbott tarnish his repuation in any way with what he reveals in the above interview with Neil Mitchell?
UPDATE (WEDNESDAY): Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has declined to say whether he also supports keeping sex for marriage.
Federal Opposition Leader Tony Abbott has told a women's magazine he would advise his daughters to treat their virginity like a gift and not give it away lightly.
The Government has seized on those comments as proof the Liberal Leader doesn't relate to women.
Mr Rudd, who is also a committed Christian, has refused to give his views and said it's not his job to advise the young people of Australia on personal matters.

Abbot is a vile, Victorian era, wanna- be patriarch who needs to slap some tape over his mysogynistic mouth and never speak again.

Did Luke say 'thinking people'? Congratulations Luke~! Who said the kid was wary of new experiences~! Now you can understand why they are commonly referred to as the 'Conservatives'~! Delusional Liberal party supporters~! :)

Check your facts. Most thinking people recanted their intial reaction to the mis-reporting of these comments after hearing the whole story. It seems the views are not as irrelevant as you would like to think!

This type of comment perfectly demonstrates why Abbott and the Liberal Party are so totally irrelevant~!

Sounds like something you'd hear in a 1950s documentary intended for 13 year old school girls- "So you're becoming a woman"
His daughters must cringe every time he says stuff like this. Well girls it's only going to get worse as the media ask him about every topic under the sun. There's an election coming.Max Wednesday 27 January, 2010 - 6:47 PM
