Tony Abbott with Neil Mitchell
Tony Abbott spoke to Neil Mitchell on Friday regarding what he describes as the Labor Party 'assassination' of former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, who stood down to allow Julia Gillard to take power.
Below is how the @3AW693 Twitter site covered the interview, which you can listen to again above (images taken from an interview earlier this year).

Are Australians really so ignorant of our own political system? I cannot believe the number of people who think that the people elected Rudd as PM.
There is NOT an unelected Premier or PM in Australia. The Premiers are elected by the State Parliaments, and the PM is elected by the Federal Parliament.
The people of Australia vote for a representative, to represent them in Parliament - and that representative votes for the Premier or PM. Perhaps voting should not be compulsory - to prevent the uneducated from 'voting for a PM' .... perhaps introduce a test so only people who understand the voting system can vote? At least then we wouldn't get stupid comments from people who think they voted for a PM.

Do people really understand so little about our political system?
You don't elect a Prime Minister, you vote for a party. The party elects a leader and if they win he/she becomes Prime Minister.Maybe its the fact that people are voting for personalities and not policies that is leading to such a bunch of insipid, dishonest whelps ruling our nation.
I mean really, John Howard lied to you, told you he lied to you and you still relected him again and again. Politicians are like used cars, you rarely get what you've payed for after the shine wears off.paddy Saturday 26 June, 2010 - 7:11 PM -
So a white women replaces a white man big deal still from the dominate race. The greatest moral issue of the nation today is not the enviroment, refugees or the mining tax. Its the treatment of Indigenous people and the theft of our resources without compensation.

We the people of Australia voted Kevin Rudd as our PM but the back stabbing faction members think the Labor party will get our votes for the next election "I don't think so" get rid of them and we might have a chance, Kevin Thank you for all you achieved for this country like pensioner's health care, etc

What a shocking state democacracy is in Australia.
An unelected premier in NSW , an unelected premier in Victoria and now an unelected Prime MinisterMark Friday 25 June, 2010 - 2:47 PM -
Someone is exhuming here, which is quite interesting.
Abotts' past is seriously associated to a red head trashed by his office gang some time ago, this time another red head is trashing his own future. What goes around comes around. Are these welsh people diabolically all related . Observe the voice and tone of both Pauline Hanson and Julia Gillard. Got to be something there. Specially the destiny for some men.Barbie Friday 25 June, 2010 - 2:08 PM
