Victoria's youngest hoon

Posted by: Luca Gonano | 13 August, 2009 - 11:55 AM
A five-year-old girl has become Victoria's youngest hoon after her mini-bike was impounded after being ridden at her local park.

Laney Frankland was riding at her local park in Frankston when police approached her and her father and confiscated her 49cc motorcycle.

The family has been told it must pay a $550 fine within 7 days and that the bike would remain impounded for a further 6 months.

Mr and Mrs Frankland paid $400 for the motorcycle initially.

Neil Mitchell spoke to the mother of the little girl, Tracey Frankland, on Thursday morning.

  • Wow, you folks have an even more power-hungry fascist police force than us in New York. At least the NYPD usually goes after adults...

  • You people are sick. Tell me the morning men mowing your precious lawns don't have a louder engine on their machine than the bike does... yeah, that's right. I get woken up all the time by those break of dawn landscapers.

  • This seems to be a major overkill even for the "police state". I'm glad I moved away last decade before these stupid powers were given to the idiots that use them..

Let the girl have her bike back.!!!

  • There have been several severe accidents involving mini bikes. They are dangerous. Mini bikes should not be ridden on public parks. He parents should be charged with reckless endagement of a child.
