Homicide Squad Detectives are trying to find a woman who may be able to provide more information about the death of Gurshan Singh.

Police believe the woman may have stopped to asist a motorist driving a Dark Green VT or VN Commodore between Mid-day and 3.00pm last Thursday, somewhere in the Northern suburbs.

It is believed the 23-year-old accused, Gursewak Dhillon, was driving a vehicle in the Northern suburbs before it ran out of fuel.

The female is said to have assisted Dhillon by driving him to the service station.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers.

Dillon appeared briefly in Melbourne Magistrates Court on Tuesday charged with one count of manslaughter by criminal negligence.

Police allege Dillon believed the boy was unconscious but still alive when he placed him in the boot of a car and drove around for three hours.

Dillon did not apply for bail and was remanded to reappear in court in June.
