  • Securing resources for us and providing young diggers with an opportunity to deploy regularly and make disgusting amounts of money. I assume in protest to them acquiring oil in such a way you have abandoned your vehicle and refuse to use it? And spend large portions of your time volunteering with displaced free loading, disrespectful 'refugees'

I am betting that you wouldn't have the same attitude if they came over here for our resources taking them by force.
What a disgusting thing to say.
You are all for invading a country and taking what is theirs aren't you?
NO, for your information I did not abandon my car nor should I. What I object to is the way this oil is secured. How about some common decency and negotiate from a place of equals instead of from a place of occupiers?

As far as refugees are concerned, I don't have a problem with helping people who are fleeing a war torn country, especially the one we helped create. I don't believe in the way some arrive (by boat illegally) but taking in refugees we helped create is the least we can do for them now.

Guess we are going to disagree on this issue so perhaps best we let it go.

  • Afghanistan is a tribal area. No one Denys that. We aren't going after tribes. We are seeking out to destroy a rebel insurgency. Call me crazy but I think it's something worth standing up and fighting against. Once again better in their desert than our cities. As for john howards statement. Well what I think is good on them. Securing resources for us and providing young diggers with an opportunity to deploy regularly and make disgusting amounts of money. Not journalists but someone with some actual experience. The world really is dangerous outside the bubble surrounding your arm chair."

That's exactly what I was saying. Our soldiers are here to defend this country and yes I agree if anyone is trying to come in and bring weapons to attack us with the army, navy etc. should all act.
My point is that our army should not be sent over there.
This is where we disagree. The reason why they are over there is why we disagree.
You say that Afghans love us. Sure, some do I acknowledge that. Just like some Iraqus would or now Libya's portion of the country but can't you see that while we are supporting one side in a civil war the other side will hate us?
What business do we have meddling in their internal stuff? We are basically backing one regime over the other and willing to help oust the one we don't like.
Surely you can't say that all Irqis love us. I bet the ones our allies bombed don't and same goes for every other conflinct we enter into.

BTW, what do you think of John Howard admitting that we went to Iraq for the oil and why do you think we were all lied to about weapons of mass destruction?
This tells me quite a lot.

  • Getting your information from a media designed to make you feel a specific way about a certain topic is truly dumb. My opinions come from first hand experience. Put a pair of boots on and stomp around Afghanistan. You'll see we are doing the right thing there. For the most part the afghanis love us. We are there to destroy an insurgency which would use unoccupied afghanistan to plan out operations to kill us. Doesn't sound nice but it's the truth. I don't mean to resort to name calling. That was wrong. But it's sheer frustration when someone so uneducated on a particular topic gives their naive view and has no idea what they're prattling on about. Speak to diggers about what they're actually doing and not journalists whose job it is to essentially make up stories. And peggy our defence is actively involved in defending our country. Here on our borders. A number of these so called 'asylum seekers' attempt to enter this country while possessing automatic weapons and samurai swords. Operation resolute. Ask around. Not journalists but someone with some actual experience. The world really is dangerous outside the bubble surrounding your arm chair.

  • Ron, first of all I want to thank you for that lovely insult of calling me a pig.
Insults automatically void your opinion because you obviously don't have any facts to argue with so you have to result to insults.
People who disagree with popular view (which is not so pupular these days) that we are there for some noble reason are not comspiracy theorists. They are just people who may have a more informed point of view.
Even Howard admitted that we were the for the oil. Where were you when he said that? Oh yes, probably reading your news thinking you know it all. Have you tried getting on the net and reading news from other countries? I suspect not. I mean countries which are not part of "coallition of the willing".
In any case, we are going to disagree but that's no reason to call me a pig or people who agree with my point of view.
BTW, whoever told you we are going to be attacked by people of Iraq etc is a liar. That is not going to happen, but we might be attacked from within. Defence force is just for that, DEFENCE, not occupation.
