Hinch Blog: The most callous ever...
I'm not sure how I am going to handle something today.
Because in all the stories of horror and heroism, of grief and self-sacrifice, that have come out of the worst disaster in our history – in a war that is still being fought as I speak – I have just read the most despicable, perverse, insensitive, cruel and callous media release I have ever seen.
I read it and actually felt physically sick. I have seen putrid and evil stuff from nutters and zealots in the past and would normally consign it to the wastepaper basket. Would not give the writer the warped pleasure of knowing I had even received it.
But today is different. Because this media release comes from a powerful church group called Catch the Fire Ministries. An evangelical group with such influence and support in Canberra that last month they had former Treasurer and would-be Prime Minister Peter Costello video an effusive endorsement for their conference. It's even proudly on their website.
I have to warn you that what I am about to read will offend, even hurt and add to the intolerable grief of so many. But this man cannot go unscathed and his cruel zealotry unchallenged.
His name is Pastor Danny Nalliah, the Catch the Fire leader. His press release starts out talking about churches rallying to help the relief effort. Appealing to Christians and non-Christians for donations of goods and money and blood. And offering condolences to families and friends who have lost loved ones. A worthy message.
But then this man of the cloth, this man of love and compassion and Christian spirit, reveals the real cause of the bush fires that have already claimed nearly 200 lives.
It is God's revenge. Nalliah says and I quote 'these bushfires have come as a result of the incendiary abortion laws which decimate life in the womb'.
Nalliah said he was not surprised by the bush fires due to a dream he had last October relating to consequences of the abortion laws passed in Victoria.
In this dream, Nalliah says he saw fire everywhere and then he received words in a flash ‘from the spirit of God’.
The message from above: That because of the changes to the abortion laws God's 'conditional protection has been removed from the nation of Australia, in particular Victoria, for approving the slaughter of innocent children in the womb.'
There's more of this heartless, bigoted bilge. He even has the audacity to steal from Barack Obama’s slogan by saying 'Can we stop the fires? Yes we can!'
I am airing this to expose this insensitive, self-styled curator of your souls. And I hope from every pulpit, from every denomination, and from the House of Costello, he is denounced.
You know, I once received human excrement in the mail from a hate-filled zealot. Even that was less offensive than this offering from Pastor Danny Nalliah.

It always amuses me the way 'religion' attracts a certain class of 'dependent personalities' who are generally incapable of independent thinking~! Yes I can certainly see that 'love', particularly when one considers the number of children being sexually abused, raped & exploited in a place allegedly professing 'worship'~! Perhaps the problem is defining exactly what IS being worshipped!?!? Paul, you REALLY need to get out in the REAL world, instead of swearing your allegiance to insensitive nutters and zealots like Nalliah~!

Mother Teresa said a nation that murders a baby in the mothers womb has lost it's soul.Have we become so cold that we don't care about murdering unborn babies that have no voice. If this man is uncaring why is he trying to save unborn babies?Doesn't anyone else care?
God is loving in Jesus but also holy if we want to be blessed can we live an evil life against the bible?
God created Adam and Eve(not Steve)God destroyed all the inhabitants of the world in the flood but 8 people(Noah) because of there violence and wickedness.
God so loved the world that he gave his only son Jesus that whoever would beleive in him would not perish but have eternal life! Paulpaul Tuesday 13 October, 2009 - 1:54 PM -
Nalliah is STILL just as irrelevant as he ever was~! Combating the evil forces of homosexuality, witchcraft and abortion? The anti-christ takes many different forms~! Praise the lord~! LMFAO

Good on that Pastor with telling the truth to our godless nation! Of course we are all sinners! Haven't you ever done anything wrong in your life! Seeing as we seem to enjoy killing our children what would stop God from punishing us and see how we like it?

I know Danny Nalliah personally. Two years ago he was instrumental in the sacking of a school principal from his church's school. The principal had doubled enrolments, was broadly respected in both religious and secular schooling, changed the feel of the school from the kind of repressive mindlessness Ps Nalliah encourages. They sacked him simply because he wouldn't kowtow to the senior pastor with the same kind of 'respect' that Nalliah craves.
I've had many many other dealings and conversations with Ps Nalliah. The word pastor (which means shepherd) is a misnomer when applied to him. He is a glory-seeking, ignorant person unable to think beyond gratifying his own desire for approval. He has been a hairs breadth away from being denounced by his denomination for years. Let's hope this time, they have the kahunas to revoke his credential.

Derryn, I look forward to you tearing into this sick man who takes joy in hiding behind a "religion" to push his tormented views...
Ring Ring, gloves off!
