Never one to worry about whether it's too soon to share a less than popular yarn about someone who's just died, Hinch has a couple of yarns about deceased former Lord Mayor Irvin Rockman you won't read in the obituaries.

3AW NEWS: Former lord mayor Irvin Rockman is being remembered for his strong contribution to Melbourne after passing away, aged 72.

Rockman, who battled eye cancer, was credited with re-vitalising the city council during his terms in the late 1970's.

Fellow former lord mayor Ron Walker says he was reformist.

  • So much for Democracy! Of the 10.5 million voters 700000 more Australians preferred the Liberal's over Labor, their wishes are marginalised just because some bureaucrat drew a line on a map . Even after counting the Green vote twice Liberal's were still preferred . Liberals also won more seats in their own right. Is not the message perfectly clear?

  • I agree with Derryn, those in the know knew about it, the trouble was getting proof, when witnesses "accidently" died.

  • Derryn Hinch- have some respect, the day you die lets hope someone comes on the radio and discusses your faults and tries to make the public remember you for your mishaps. No one is perfect, Irvin was a great man and deserves to be remembered as a intelligent man who made a difference in our society. Lets celebrate his life.
