Killer cab driver
I know I use the word ‘ Noddyland’ a lot but this is even worse. This is loopy-ville. This is dangerous. And, yet again, it involves our courts.
Put simply: A man who stabbed his wife to death 20 years – and who was found not guilty on the grounds of insanity—has been granted the right to drive a taxi in Melbourne.
And, in the Supreme Court, his name has been suppressed. He can only be identified as XFJ. Si you might get into a can and be blissfully unaware that your driver once murdered his wife.
But this case gets worse. And I have mentioned it several times before as it has gone to VCAT and through the courts.
During a trial last year the Equal Opportunity and Equal rights commission told the court it would be ‘ discrimination against a person with amental illness’ to deny him a taxi licence.
I also got angry when the man’s lawyer said something that riled me and I believe insulted every man or woman who every wore an Australian uniform.
Paul Bingham was arguing that killing should not automatically disqualify a taxi driver. That, in itself, is to me a loopy stretch of any argument.
But then he said: ‘It could mean someone awarded a Victoria Cross would not be suitable to be accredited.’ How can you invoke the image of a man who put his life on the line for his country – and many of them died for it – in the same breath as pleading the case of a man who stabbed his wife to death?
Anyway after the Taxi directorate refused the man a licence and CVAT also refused him he went to the Supreme court and today got a decision. We’ll have that next….

Discriminate against this KILLER because of his mental state??? VCAT, are you morons even capable of understanding the meaning of Health & Safety? If this doesn't bring the Taxi Industry into disrepute, I don't know what does~! This is typical of DO-GOODER Hulls & his simpleton 'Justice System'~! Victoria, the state of Lal La Land~! I can imagine VCAT - they probably WET themselves at the thought they may have to say NO~!!! Common sense tells you this decision is MORONIC~!
