3 Diggers wounded in Afghanistan
Three Australian soldiers have been wounded in a roadside bomb attack in Afghanistan, reports AAP.
The incident occurred during an operational mission on Monday about 60 kilometres northwest of the Multi-National Base at Tarin Kowt in Oruzgan Province.
The Australian Defence Force says the soldiers from Mentoring Task Force Three were given immediate first aid at the scene before being evacuated by helicopter to a medical facility.
Their wounds are not considered life-threatening and they are in a satisfactory condition.
One soldier will return to Australia where he is expected to make a full recovery.
The others have been discharged and are being managed as outpatients.
In total, 216 ADF members have been wounded in Afghanistan since the start of the war in 2001.
