Smokin Hot

After a scorching weekend which left many Melburnians with burnt backs, chests and faces, Neil Mitchell posed a question to listeners:

Are we using sun screen correctly, or is sun screen not working as well as it should?

Neil spoke to Sue Heward, Manager of Sun Smart, who cleared up any myths regarding sun screen and sun burns.

Sue said people aren't putting enough on their bodies and aren't reapplying every two hours like they should.

She also emphasised the importance of wearing hats and sunglasses on high UV days.

Geez you are lucky. I have a file about six inches thick at Peter Mac. When I was young SunSmart didn't exist. Even factors hadn't been invented. I wore headwear most of the time but it didn't stop me getting skin cancers.
I lost one cousin to a melanoma and an aunty had one successfully removed. Count yourself lucky.

  • I have never used sunscreen and do not wear sunglasses and I have no spots or moles on my body???yes I have my body checked every year, Me thinks this an over reaction by the powers above to sell SUNCREAMS and the Doctors to raise more money to put their kids thru "PRIVATE SCHOOLS"
