Australian Team changes for first test against Sri Lanka

Batsman Phil Hughes says he's ready for another chance at test cricket a year after being axed from the Australian team.

The 24 year-old will replace Ricky Ponting for the first test against Sri Lanka in Hobart next week.

The pace attack will be boosted by the return of Peter Siddle and Ben Hilfenhaus.

Australian squad for the first cricket Test against Sri Lanka starting on December 14 in Hobart:

Michael Clarke (capt), Shane Watson (vc), David Warner, Ed Cowan, Phil Hughes, Mike Hussey, Matthew Wade, Peter Siddle, Mitchell Johnson, Mitchell Starc, Ben Hilfenhaus, Nathan Lyon.
