Detective Sergeant Brent Fisher told the court the teenager was murdered on or about February 2, 1992 and Camilleri was a suspect in relation to her disappearance and death.

Detective Sergeant Fisher said Camilleri was spoken to in August 2009 and provided a version of events which investigators now believed to be untrue.

He said police had identified a motive and had some identification evidence they wanted to put to Camilleri.

Detective Sergeant Fisher they wanted to interview Camilleri for eight hours which he said sounded extensive but said the motive dated back to years earlier and was quite extensive and detailed.

Camilleri, who's serving a life sentence for the rape and murder two teenage girls who'd been holidaying in Bega, did not oppose the application.
