Fires linked to smart meters?
The Metropolitan Fire Brigade says there is no cause for public alarm after it launched an official investigation into fires, linked to Smart Meters.
Brigade Command has ordered all firefighters to report fires, where smart meters are present and has advised officers not to allow power companies to take the meters from the scene.
There have been three smart meter switchboard fires in recent weeks.
Chief Fire Officer Shane Wright says it's a standard procedure and at this stage there is no firm link with the meters.

A smart meter was to be installed at my home last week after receiving notification. Access was good dogs in a secure yard well away from meter. I recieved a letter via my next door neighbour stating my power would be cut in 10 days..... if I did not comply with locking up my dogs. They had gone to the wrong address, he has not yet received notices regarding his instillation. Both houses are clearly numbered, I rang the company Electrix and still haven't heard back. So in another week my power may be cut? What sort of incompetence can I expect when it is finally installed, if the installer cannot read two house signs.

Every electrical appliance in my home has suffered from smart meter install it only took 6 wks to lose PC-harddrive fried, well pump -Burnt constant run, Hot water Tank did not work problem water temp 140 degrees replaced thermostat & that did not work I replaced it with new H2O Tank in 5 mins my fully(cold) filled brand new H2o heater was also 140 degrees and was set at factory 119 degrees I kept the plates off and had to set temp to 100 degrees to over ride extreme temps Refrigerator also blew lights & iced my lettuce, washer & dryer unworkable stove lost oven and digital display had to remove receptacle on stove it looked like a waxed candle from the heat.I have been on our news in Maine Light bulbs blew all through my home. my pellet stove kept turning its own blow speed up When that meter arrived I felt like my home was possessed by an evil entity and I should call a priest or ghost busters I suffered for two months and took manual readings 24/7 and logged all in a journal thenI took the pic of meter with my cell phone camera before I demanded it removed which the power Co did remove it But I did this for us and I will not stop until I right their wrong Peace out Stay Strong & Be RESILLIENT

Neil,
you need to stop scare mongering to increase ratings and advertising revenues!
In 2007 there were NO smart meters, and every installation fire had an old meter in service - no concerns from you?
In 2011 30% of installations have smart meters, and guess what? @30% of installation fires have a smart meter - and you are suddenly concerned!
In 2014 when all the old meters are replaced, guess what? 100% of installation fires will have a smart meter, and surprise surprise - you will be scare mongering to increase your ratings.
The installers dont add new meter wiring, they use the existing wiring that belongs to the customer and its that wiring that is failing and causing fires- and its tested before the meter is installed to try and find the defects, but the defects are there regardless of the smart meter!
Which is why over 6,000 defective customer wiring installations have been found by the Smart Meter rollout, avoiding a potential 6,000 house fires!
And your trying to scare monger about 3!!!
