Bob Katter's Australian Party has committed to running a candidate in every seat for the upcoming Federal election, vowing to be the new worker's party.

With his trademark Akubra and enthusiastic hand gestures Bob Katter said his party is a 'racecar' with the pedal to the floor.

The party is now promising a high quality candidate for each of the 150 federal seats, after last year falling short of contesting every seat in the Queensland state election by just ten candidates.
But Mr Katter is confident, tipping success in his own seat as well as the seat of Hebert, taking in Townsville.
Mr Katter confirmed he will remain as the candidate for Kennedy and not make a tilt at the Senate.
But State Australian Party leader Ray Hopper was not so steadfast, saying he's committed to his current position but hinting that it wouldn't be such a bad thing for the people in his electorate if he won a Senate seat.
The party also said they have ironed out all the ballot registration issues they had last year.

  • A high quality candidate for each seat? Katter really means a redneck, small-minded big-mouth for each seat.

  • Excellent. Hopefully they'll have the balance of power and Mr Rabbit will have to run every policy passed Bob. What could possibly go wrong?

  • Bob should do well if he's given a fair go. Gillard and Abbott both need an almighty boot up the backside.
