Mansour Almaribe details lashings
FRIDAY: Australian father of five Mansour Almaribe has touched down in Melbourne after a harrowing ordeal in a Saudi jail.
Almaribe received 75 lashes and was released after serving almost two months in prison.
Diplomatic representations by Foreign Minster Kevin Rudd helped to secure his early release after he was originally sentenced to two years in jail and 500 lashes.
However, Mr Almaribe - while thanking Federal MP Sharman Stone - says he was disappointed with the Federal Government's efforts, saying he expected more from it.

Just wait a few more years till they have the numbers and we're living under Sharia Law then we'll all be able to sue the government when we get 75 lashes for blasphemy. A big thank you to our government immigration policies over the last 10 years for bringing us to this.

What Tha?? People never cease to astound me, so Almaribe left of his own free will to visit a Barbaric, Stone Age Culture of his own free will, is aware of the sensitivities of the different sects, causes offense there and is sentenced to barbaric punishment by this regime and wants to sue the Australian Tax Payer/Australian Government for not doing enough to help him, Spare from fools and greed, you just lost any sympathy I might have had for you mate!!!

I think he should sue the Australian Govt. The Labor Party law firms are in need of a new source of easy, undisclosed settlements and Gillard is just the jellyback to provide it.
Next thing we will have a mass exodus of pilgrims heading to the Middle East for a lashing and a cheque courtesy of Gillard and Co.
Is this potentially the new Mediterranean back syndrome from the 70's and 80's?Paddy Monday 16 January, 2012 - 11:36 AM -
Australia is becoming a farce. It's certainly not what it once was. Keep the boats coming though says Bob Brown and Julia. I also bet little Kev07 got a trip out of this too.

Have some pity for this poor man. Imagine if you had to face these horrible lashes. I'm sure you wouldn't like it. Or would you?
