Meat Loaf on the nose
It may not be official but if talkback radio and social media reaction is anything to go by Meat Loaf could be the least popular AFL Grand Final pre-match entertainment ever.

VIDEO: Meat Loaf in the 3AW studio last year
Meat Loaf, paid a reported $600,000 to 'perform' before the league's premiership decider, sounded arguably awful.
Andrew Demetriou, the AFL boss who told Neil Mitchell on Friday the league may chase The Rolling Stones for the 2012 Grand Final, may need some advice.
Is it time we were regaled by a local act again after Lionel Richie and Meat Loaf?

There is plenty of good Australian talent that could be used. Perfect opportunity to show case them.

Why all the fuss? A 3rd rate entertainer that hasn't had a hit since the 80's, sings for a 4th rate sport that no-one outside of a few states in Australia has heard of or cares about. Sounds like a perfect match to me.

AFL chief Andrew Demetriou should lose his job, after a woeful performance by Meatloaf

I thought Meatloaf was as good as the AFL deserves. Why dont they have asian or african bands pref. refugees to sing the national anthem. For $600,000 we could shout the more seats for refugees to watch the game.I have never seen a AFL game or watched it on Television. It is boring.Meatloaf is laughing his way back home to cash the easiest paycheck ever.

We should use up and coming Aussie talent I am sure that there would be some really good young strugglers that need a chance to shine. Stop bringing in old out of date imports.

Aside from the fact that we should be supporting home-grown talent, and especially when it involves an iconic Australian sport such as AFL, I really think we are being a little hard on Meatloaf, it's the AFL that failed to do their research...because had they, they would have known he's been passing out on stage all over the place, three concerts in the last 7 weeks. His management knows he's ill, but seem to be making the most out of a man oblivious to his own deterioration and predicament.
Google "Meatloaf fainted" and "Meatloaf Stroke".
He's not at all well.Melle Wednesday 5 October, 2011 - 1:25 AM
