Newton denies heart surgery rumours
In contrast to previous reports, Bert Newton did not undergo emergency heart surgery in Singapore, according to Channel 9.
The Herald Sun originally said Newton, who's in Singapore performing in the stage show "Wicked," suffered "heart issues" and complications from a serious virus.
However, the paper has now amended their story, saying Newton has missed performances of 'Wicked' due to a severe cold, and is not suffering any heart problems.
In a statement released through Channel 9, Newton said:
"I'll be back fighting fit if not at the weekend, I'll on stage by Tuesday.
"Because of the fact I had pneumonia last June, I need to be extra careful when a cold strikes to ensure it doesn't become anything more serious.''
Newton's publicist relayed this message to 3AW:
"I have spoken with Bert and he denies any heart scare.
He has a heavy cold and has been forced to take a couple of days off from Wicked in Singapore (Tues, Wed & Thurs) and is resting and taking it easy."
Last June Newton fell extremely ill with a bout of pneumonia which he contracted through his Granddaughter.

What's next with this family ??maybe a musical or a movie about themselves>!!

In Physics, there are three Laws attributable to Newton.
In Oz show business, there would appear to be only one Newton's Law - stay in the headlines, no matter how monotonous and boring.
