PM continues to sell carbon tax
WEDNESDAY: The Prime Minister's in Melbourne today stepping up the hard sell of the carbon tax.
Julia Gillard will attend the "Carbon Expo"; addressing business leaders about the implications of a carbon price on their bottom line.
It comes as the Opposition accuses the PM of ripping off the public, spending taxpayer funds on a new series of carbon tax ads.
The Gillard Government has confirmed more money will be spent selling the levy but Shadow Environment Minister Greg Hunt says it's now law and it's an absurd move.

TUESDAY: The Gillard Government is hailing today as historic with the carbon tax passing into law.
Federal Parliament erupted in applause with the Gillard Government's carbon tax passing through the Senate.
The Opposition attempted to extend debate after Labor and the Greens combined to guillotine it.
They also tried to move an amendment that would reduce the cost of the tax on electricity generators.
But both attempts failed, and the tax was passed along with the Steel Transformation package.
The historic vote was 36 to 32.
Meanwhile, Opposition MPs have rejected claims Tony Abbott has fled the country in order to avoid today's passing of the carbon tax through the Senate.
Mr Abbott last night left for London to attend a meeting of the UK Democratic Party.
Shadow Treasurer Joe Hockey has described it as a sad day for Australia.
GILLARD IMPROVES IN THE POLLS
Julia Gillard has returned home from her surprise trip to Afghanistan with a slight jump in her support. The latest poll suggests that primary support for labor has risen to 32 per cent.
Gillard's support percentage has jumped six points since a record low in September.
However, the latest increase comes at the expense of the Australian Greens, with support for the minor party falling three points to 12 per cent.

Carbon tax costs job creation
The opposition claims Australians should go to the polls after Julia Gillard's carbon tax again came under heavy scrutiny. Coogee Chemicals has decided to scrap plans for a multi-billion dollar investment due to the pressure of the carbon tax.
PM tells 3AW she's going nowhere
Neil Mitchell spoke with Prime Minister Julia Gillard on Thursday morning, as she comes under mild attack for not curtsying to The Queen upon her arrival in Australia. More here.
Bad polls don't deter the PM
Prime Minister Julia Gillard maintains she'll lead Labor to the next federal election despite another two bad opinion polls. The PM says Labor is making tough calls in the interest of Australians.
Carbon tax passed Wednesday
YOUR FEEDBACK: Prime Minister Julia Gillard says Australians need to stop questioning the commitment of the rest of the world to climate change. Neil Mitchell says the carbon tax is not that simple.

Jane has hit the nail on the head. Our slimy treasurer, who needed preferences from the greens just to hold his seat, seems fixated on bringing the budget back to surplus by 12/13. If that means introducing a deceitful carbon tax - so be it. col, have another cone mate.

We will continue to get inferior and corrupt politcians for as long as we care more about what Kim Kardashian is doing than what our politicians are doing.
How many people actually take time to get to know what is happening to this country and the world? How many people go beyond our newspapers and our 6 o'clock news to know what is really goin on?
It's far easier to pick up a magazine and check out Paris Hilton than to read articles written by credible academics, historians and journalists which you can only get online.
Too many of our people are dumbed down for a reason.Peggy Wednesday 9 November, 2011 - 10:15 AM -

Julia clearly doesn't care if she even survives in politics let alone ever gets elected again.
She has lined her pockets with "appreciation" from the vultures who stand to make big bucks out of our misery.
She won't have to work another day in her miserable life while the idiots who voted for this monstrosity will be paying through their nose for the rest of their lives.
Unfortunately the rest of us will be paying too.Just who stands to gain from this tax? Always follow the money and you will get answers.
Julia and the rest of them are obviously gaining something from this because they know they are finished in politics.Peggy Tuesday 8 November, 2011 - 11:37 PM -
So glad we have a carbon tax, meanwhile Burke forgot to tell the UN about the LNG plant and the Great Barrier reef is not facing massive environmental destruction. See 4 Corners - Great Barrier Grief. Clear breach of UNESCO guidelines, the reef was listed in order to PROTECT it from this sort of thing! Gillard & Co must go.
