Police are on the hunt for a group of robbers they believe are behind more than 40 burglaries of fast food outlets across Melbourne this year.

Each of the 43 robberies have occurred during the night between March and September this year.

Fast food chain Nandos has been the primary target but a number of Subway restaurants have also been hit.

Detective Senior Constable Andrew White says the group is well organised, methodical and sophisticated.

He says it only takes a few minutes for them to break into the store and steal its cash box.

The group have managed to steal in excess of $100,000.

Two men have been arrested and charged but police believe there could be 3 to 4 more people involved in the burglaries.

WATCH: Investigators have released CCTV footage of one of the incidents

Anyone with information about any of the burglaries is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppers.com.au

  • Definitely not Shorten et al. His group, Labor, which are also a bunch of thieves, are definitely NOT well organised, methodical and sophisticated.
